Every moment holds the
possibility of a new beginning.
Yet there are
certain times in the cycles and rhythms of Nature when momentum builds for new
initiatives. In the lunar cycle, the New Moon & waxing phase is such a
time. In the turning of the Wheel of the Year, the span from Winter Solstice (Dec.
21) to Spring Equinox (March 20) is the most fertile time for nurturing the seeds of new
beginnings.
At the apex of
this cycle is Imbolc (Feb. 2nd), a sacred Earth Holiday with ancient traditions of
purification, initiation, and preparation for new beginnings. The earth is blanketed
in wintry white, but deep in the soil the seeds of new life begin their first stirrings,
nurtured by the heartbeat of Mother Earth.
It is a time for self-examination & discovery ... for venturing our first step upon a
new & daring path ... for opening to receive the blessings that flow towards us
when we have the courage to act in alignment with our Souls. As we move into this
sacred time, we are invited to go deep within to ...

listen to the Spirit-Whispers in our Hearts
... heed the Spirit-Truth flaming in our Minds
... feel the waves of Spirit-Force flowing through our cells
Deep within we have all the wisdom we will ever need to activate our authentic
Selves. Inside we KNOW, we KNOW what we are called to BE. We may not be able
to access a set of encoded instructions that tell us exactly what steps to take ( A - Z )
to achieve our purpose in this lifetime.
But we DO know
the Truth of our own longing. No matter how deeply buried, there is Spirit-Longing
within us. A Voice that calls us to express our Soul's essence. A Voice that
calls you to be You ... To be your authentic Self ... to express your unique and powerful
gifts. If you can feel this longing, you are being asked to answer the call of your
Spirit ... to open to change and commitment. You are being invited to Initiation.
Initiation is a
transformational journey into deeper connection with Spirit. Initiation comes in
many forms, from the formal to the spontaneous ... from the dramatic to the subtle, but all true initiations require the
facing of a fear, the breaking of a barrier, a shattering which opens & expands the
Spirit. Initiation involves risk. It requires courage.
Stepping into initiation is a leap of
faith. We don't have to know the outcome when we enter the process. (In fact if we
knew the outcome, it wouldn't be an initiation, because initiation takes us into uncharted
territory, into new realms, and beyond all expectations.) We must choose at some level of our Being to open to the initiatory process. The
key is knowing when and how to choose.
Are you prepared to open to the
Power of Initiation?
Search inwardly.
Reflect deeply.
Assess honestly.
Commit courageously.
Open ....
We open to initiation when
we find the courage to heed the longing of the Spirit. We open by setting the intention to
embrace transformation. We open when we declare our commitment to accept the
accompanying changes and challenges. We open, trusting that Divine Spirit knows how
much transformation & challenge we can truly handle (not what we think we can handle,
but what we can actually handle). And as we open, we invoke the energies of
Initiation, welcoming soul-deepening, heart-healing, wise-weaving.
True initiation arises from our
soul's spark, flows into us with the breath of the Divine, cracks us open like the beak of
an eagle breaking its shell.
If we engage the challenge ...
If we enter into trust ...
If we embrace our courage
If we dare to act ... to shed the shell...
We emerge, we emerge from darkness into Light .. expanding into Wisdom. |
